GRANT CRITERIA
The trustees will review all eligible grant requests that meet our criteria as set out below. However, we can only support a limited number of applications each year and the trustees will select those applications that they believe will provide the greatest benefit for the funding required. If you're not sure whether you meet our criteria, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and ask.
You must be:
A registered charity based in Northumberland or Tyne & Wear (not an individual) with a turnover of no more than £1m
Looking for a grant of between £500 and £25,000
The funding you are looking for must:
Be for the benefit of a number of residents of the North East that are disadvantaged by
reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other socio-economic basisBe for a planned project/spend - we will not fund anything retrospectively
Not be for a research project
Not be for the advancement or benefit of a religious or political cause
We prefer projects that:
Have an educational, environmental or sporting benefit
Deliver a long lasting impact on the people supported
Are clearly defined, distinct projects rather than requests for core cost funding
