OUT access ramp
OUT North East is a Gateshead-based LGBTQ+ charity dedicated to creating a region where everyone feels safe, valued and included. Through our ONE Centre, the North East’s first non-commercial LGBTQ+ community hub, we provide welcoming spaces, activities and support that bring people together and strengthen communities.
We are delighted to have received a grant from the Wellbank Foundation towards our OUTdoor Community Garden project. Thanks to this generous funding, we will be able to install an accessible ramp connecting the two levels of our new community garden, ensuring that those with access needs can access and enjoy the space equally..
This will help us to transform an underused outdoor area into a vibrant, inclusive green space where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, volunteer and improve their wellbeing through gardening and nature-based activities. We are incredibly grateful to the Wellbank Foundation for helping us remove barriers to participation and create a welcoming community space that everyone can enjoy.
