The project aims to work with young people around themes of inclusiveness and tolerance using the inspiration of Dr Martin Luther King. Dr King visited Newcastle in 1967, Northern Roots celebrated the 50th anniversary of Kings visit with Freedom City in 2017. This project is part of the legacy of Dr. King’s visit. The project will involve Matti and Chichi
from Voices of Virtue choir working with young people to directly tackle issues around racism and intolerance. We also plan to work with rapper Kay Greyson who will deliver
workshops in creative writing, rapping and music composition to young women and girls.
