SPARCS Home Education Group is part of SPARCS—a vibrant charity based in Whitley Bay that supports autistic and neurodivergent young people and their families. From our unique and bespoke building, we run youth clubs, support groups, holiday activities, and more, creating a safe and inclusive space that inspires growth and connection.

Our Home Education Group is a dynamic and empowering place for young neurodivergent individuals who learn outside of traditional schools. These weekly sessions are completely led by the young people, making them bespoke, creative, and unique. We focus on independence, socialising, and free-flow learning, incorporating credited courses informally to help each child achieve their own milestones.

We use the AQA curriculum package, which provides tailored certificates for the topics and work our young people undertake. This approach is highly effective for neurodivergent learners, ensuring qualifications are accessible and meaningful to them.

We embrace diverse ways of learning, whether through writing, typing, images, or photographs, ensuring every young person is celebrated for their individuality. Interests in STEM, sensory technology, art, and science fuel engaging themes and dynamic sessions that spark curiosity and joy.

Free breakfast and lunch are provided, addressing food poverty while fostering community bonds. Attending without parents builds confidence and social skills, offering neurodivergent youth a meaningful environment to thrive.

SPARCS Home Education Group is more than an education program—it’s a celebration of individuality and neurodiversity. Together, we create a space where every child can grow, explore, and shine.
